About Me
Melissa L. Blizzard is a sixth-generation Scottish American author of contemporary adult literature and innovative and motivational children's books.
Melissa lives in a beautifully tranquil small community nestled securely in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. She loves nature and loves turning current events into pragmatic and innovative writing ideas.
Melissa earned her Regents Bachelors of Arts from shepherd University in 2009 then pursued her Master of Fine Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Liberty University.
Literary Works
Novels
- Chasing Paper Moons is the first novel in this series. This novel was actually completed in 2012 and kept in storage until 2020 when it was first presented to Newman Springs Publishing.
- Engaging Paper Moons was written in 2020 as the sequel to Chasing Paper Moons. This novel captures the spirit of the work and motivation behind the day-to-day pursuits of Dr. Grant and Dr. Clark.
- Celebrating Paper Moons, the newest novel in the series was written in 2021 as the third edition to Dr. Ava Grant's and Dr. Jackson Clark's epic journey through the universe.
Screenplays

The Paper Moon Series
The Paper Moon series is the compilation of novels Melissa has written to share with the world. The main protagonist, Dr. Ava Grant is a highly motivated college professor at a small and equally prestigious university. Dr. Grant's time and attention are detracted from her lectures and research when her fiancé, Dr. Jackson Clark hands her the mystery that compels her to travel across the universe to uncover and solve. Through their journey, they discover that their love becomes magnified through their wedding and later the birth of their first daughter. Readers will revel at the depth of their research and travels and delight in the romance that culminates between the two main characters.
